Sally Ball Sharp’s playful designs feature bright colors, elaborate pattern mixing and bespoke sentiments. Though her body of work is versatile, her joyful voice is consistent throughout.
Sharp earned her B.A. in Painting from Washington & Lee University, where she received the school’s Art Award before attending Parson’s School of Design in NYC.
Her successful career in the decorative arts is multi-faceted: art direction, illustration, design, prop-styling and product design. Years working on-staff and freelance for A-list companies like Martha Stewart, House Beautiful, Vanity Fair, Williams-Sonoma and Publications International have given her work versatility and polish. Sharp spent over five years designing/making gift products for many large companies, like Target, Michaels and Natural Life. She is experienced in traveling to Hong Kong and working with factories to design/illustrate and produce gift products. She began licensing exclusively to Natural Life in 2003 while she launched her own wholesale stationery company, Sharp & Sally. After ten years of running a business, she was ready to hang up her administrative hat and delight in being creative again. Sharp’s work can be found across the country, everywhere from small gift boutiques to large retailers, on an array of gift and home décor products.
From her cheery studio in sunny Jacksonville, Florida, Sharp thrives on exploring all kinds of genre and client-driven requests. When she isn’t hard at work, Sharp soaks in as much family time as possible with her husband, two kids and two furry babies.
